Home Page

A website for photographers, artists and others with mobility challenges who want to find great places to visit around the Denver metro area.  Our aim is to make it easy for you to find fun and challenging locations to take your wheelchair in Colorado.  We will point out the best and worst accessibility issues in the places we visit, along with tips for how to make the most out of your trip.  For the artist and photographer, we will describe our favorite locations, the best time of day (if applicable), how to get there, any mobility challenges, and provide some photos of the locale.

We decided to start this website in September 2008 after a conversation between my husband and I wishing there was a book decribing the best places for photographers with mobility challenges.  Since there is no such book out there, we decided to create this website and hopefully a book in the future dedicated to just this topic.  I am  a disabled photographer and artist who is confined to a wheelchair.  I specialize in landscape and floral macro photography.  Photographing the flowers is fairly easy, because I plant them in my front yard and can take advantage of photo ops whenever the weather cooperates.  Taking landscape photos is a lot bigger challenge however.  I usually shoot from inside my car and trying to get the best shot from this position is somewhat interesting to say the least.  We live in Colorado and have many beautiful locations to photograph.  This website details some of the best locales for mobility challenged photography in the west and techniques that we can employ.  It also addresses some great other locations such as restaurants, stores, museums etc that make life easy for those of us to whom walking is a challenge.Aqua-Golf-43
